Feature presentation: Storing documents in projects

Feb 16, 2024Assigning documents to a project makes it easier for your partners to get started.
We have released a new feature also this month: you can now assign documents to an onboarding project and manage them centrally.
Whether we talk about manuals or sample messages, a well-known problem with interface implementations is that project partners have different levels of knowledge. An example: An EDI service provider has already connected one of its customers to you in the past and received the necessary documents by email at the time. Since then, however, your interface has evolved and new mandatory segments have been added.
Use the upload button to add new documents to the project.
If the service provider now relies on the outdated documents and does not proactively request the latest version, it will initially implement the interface incorrectly. The errors can be corrected, but this takes time, so that the exchange of productive data can only take place later. We were therefore of the opinion that it would be more practical if the documents for an interface were available in the latest version at the start of the project in a location that all project partners could access automatically.

All documents in the right place: In the project

This is why administrators can now upload documents up to ten megabytes in size to Cargogear and assign them to a project. To do this, log in to the platform and switch to project management. Then click on the 'Manage files for this project' button and add the desired files. The partners can then download them in the project view. Documents and checks for test messages are thus grouped together in one place, making it easier for your partners to keep track of your project. You can make the implementation of your interface even easier by providing not only a manual, but also sample messages that partners can use in their test scenarios.
